Lacy A. Hallett, 71, of Rt. 4, Crawfordsville, a retired school teacher and former principal of Attica H.S. died Wednesday afternoon at Venice, Fla. where he was visiting relatives. He reportedly suffered a heart attack. Mr. Hallett had taught in Fountain County schools and in Sowestern School District in Tippecanoe County. He was a member of Wallace Masonic Lodge 495, Wallace Low 12 Club and national and state retired teachers associations. He was a graduate of what was then Indiana State Teachers College at Terre Haute. Born Feb. 25, 1903, a son of Charles and Gertrude Summers Hallett. He was married to Celia Ransford of Terre Haute on Dec. 24, 1924. She die din July 1973. Surviving are his mother of Waynetown; two sons, Donald M. of Kalamazoo Michigan and Richard L. of Anderson; two uncles, Alva Hallet of Alamo and Marx Summers of Wallace; four grandchildren and a cousin. A brother, Oral is deceased. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home at Waynetown with burial in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 3 p.m. Sunday. Masonic services will be conducted by the Wallace Lodge at 8 p.m. Sunday. - kbz
